Edit: Remix & extra guitars added!

This song hit #1 on top 40 charts after it came out in 2006 and got overplayed on many radio stations for many years, but since I didn't listen too often to those type of stations I didn't tire of it and would come back to listen to it periodically over the years. A couple years ago I watched a TV special about the band. The lead singer and songwriter (Gary Lightbody) is from Northern Ireland and other band members from Scotland.

Tracks:
- Washburn mini acoustic guitar recorded with AT4040 mic into Tascam 2x2HR USB interface
- Fender Duo Sonic Electric Guitar (doubled/panned); humbucker pickup into Amplitube 5 Fender 57' Bandmaster plugin
- Fender Mustang P90 (starting 2nd chorus; doubled/panned); into GTR3 "crunch amp" plugin
- Vocals (doubled) recorded with AT4040 mic into CLA vocals plugin
- Bass, Pianos, Electric Piano, Synth - midi transcriptions played by Sampletank 3 plugins
- Drums - EZ Drummer 1 plugin
- Recorded, mixed, and mastered in Reaper using Waves plugins

Previously I did a cover of the song "Run" by the same band:

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

I don't know the song but I do now!  What a great job on this Doug.  It's precise.  It's clean.  It's clear.
exquisite recording!  Your process really works a treat!  The playing is great as well...
missed you around the site but I remember you had a very large class at University to teach.  Glad to see you survived it and now have some time to record again...

Hi JP, It is a "3/4 size" (22.5 inch scale) dreadnought-style 6 string acoustic guitar. It has a solid Sitka spruce top, rosewood back and sides. Made by Washburn, model WCDM25SKI. I got a "slightly blemished" one on sale for $250 including case a few years ago. I like shorter scale guitars as I find them easier to play and this one has a nice tone for a small guitar. My favorite small acoustic is my Taylor GS-mini (23.5 inch scale), but the Washburn is almost equal in quality.  Here's what it looks like:

I like these smaller guitars also...likely because I have small fingers...lol

Really nice cover.. I agree that the song was overplayed for a few years but it's good to hear it again
