"Serenade to a cuckoo" was composed in 1964 by Rahsaah Roland Kirk ("I Talk With The Spirits" the name of the album), but became famous after the cover Jethro Tull made of the tune in 1968 ("This Was").

This time, apart from the backing tracks (bass-drums-piano) that I've made as usual with Band-in-a-Box 2023, I've used a Washburn J6 archtop guitar. For the flute part I've used a Godin ACS-SA with a Roland GR-55 guitar synth.

...a little pearl of pearl!

What a pleasure Alfredo to hear a jazzy piece

..and really well done
...and I did not know this piece thank you for the discovery
...and you master perfectly BIAB

This is very good Alfredo! A little jazz is always good for my musical ears, and you've done it amazingly well. I'm familiar with the Jethro Tull version but never knew it was written by Rahsaah Roland Kirk, who I don't know anything about. An excellent recording!

This is very cool indeed. I'd love to be sitting in a jazz bar right now listening to this. And this puts me right there, at least in my mind. Terrific work, Alfredo! So smooth.

p.s., I'm not familiar with Rashaah Roland Kirk's work, but I do remember him as a multi-instrumentalist (sometimes simultaneously, even):

It's not surprising that Tull would cover this... it is right in their wheel house.

Flute with a guitar and guitar with a guitar!  Very nice.  Not what I usually listen to, but glad to hear it.  That "band-in-a-box" is way to back your proficient guitar playing.  I bought the "base" version of BIB >10(?) years ago, and did a little with it (one original song posted here, I think), but not much else.  I'm getting gas to get the latest version  :)
