Let It Be Me" is a popular song originally published in French in 1955 as "Je t'appartiens" interpreted by Gilbert Bécaud. It became popular worldwide with an English version by the Everly Brothers and later with the duet by Betty Everett and Jerry Butler.

In fact I didn't remember that the original version, once is not customary, is...French by the singer Gilbert Becaud (it is true that in 1955,...I was 7 years old!

I found this information by searching on wiki,..so I put at the end the first verse of the French version, here are the lyrics
