(V1) He saw her from a distance, she won him over with no resistance.
Don't judge a book by its cover, he wanted her for his lover.

(Chr) Ohhh, hey...hey, the sweetest candy in the golden box
Ohhh, hey...hey, but truth be told. She was fool's gold.

(V2) He chose not to turn the pages, of a story as old as the ages
A man is swooned by a woman, that turns into an evil omen

(Chr) Ohhh, hey...hey, the sweetest candy in the golden box
Ohhh, hey...hey, but truth be told. She was fool's gold
(solo – slide)
(V3) She teased, pleased and deceived, as told in the tea leaves.
He played a part in the oldest of tales, that was destined to fail.

(Chr) Ohhh, hey...hey, the sweetest candy in the golden box
Ohhh, hey...hey, but truth be told. She was fool's gold.........

Always look forward to hearing your latest songs, Farrell and I'm never disappointed. Another great track with everything first class. Love the message in the lyrics and the production is top notch.

Loved that lead intro...major stuff.
then right into your wonderful vocals.  This is really great music and recording.  Totally pro...
sweet... all the right tones and the mix is heaven.
the drums move this nice too... crisp... bass and keyboards are at the same high levels as all the rest...
really cool vibes in this song... you can bet I will hear this more than once.

man this sounds like a Boston trac around 4;00... awesome

the end lead merges toward lunatic fringe or perhaps old Floyd...it's very good... and fun

Those things we take for granted - when we're young and immature - will surely return to haunt us when we're old and insecure

Another stunning RV song.  Everything exactly in its place.  I was going to comment on Gary's Blackmore evoking guitar solo - especially the harmonic minor section - and then Jon Lord appeared in the guise of the good doctor!  This song really could have been a lost track from Machinehead or Stormbringer - both fave albums of mine.  Oh and the vocals are top notch.

Totally pro. Totally enjoyable. There's so much ear candy on this one that it never gets old. Bravo!

Not to sell anything else short because all the RV posts seem to outdo one another, but the production always floors me. Everything perfectly mixed, and I am definitely taking notes on your panning (I am timid when it comes to hard panning most of the time).

Great keys solo and ending. Just wow.

Super post.

Great little rocker, with a ton of stellar playing and vocals. Musically, quite dramatic!

Well done, gents.

There is a little known but powerful US band called "Seventh Key"....

Billy Greer, long time bassist, (one of the) vocalist, and frontman for that great classic rock band known as Kansas is in the band as bassist and lead singer.  He lives in Savanah, Georgia.  I am not sure how the band came to be but when Covid hit they did some great recordings while they could not play live...

anyway this is epicly quite along those lines.. it's fresh and rocking tight, and outstanding players...all

Love the dynamic change into the chorus – especially how the drums intensify, like your buddy slapping you in the face saying, "Open your fucking eyes! You've been played!"

I've always wanted to do my own take on the theme "man's judgement impaired by beautiful women." I've got plenty of material to work with – personal experience, and the experience of watching men I know hitting all the pitfalls. I'll work on it.
