Girl from the North Country is a song written by Bob Dylan and featured on the 1963 album The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan

Hugues Aufray, a French singer and songwriter, introduced Bob Dylan to France and translated several of his songs into French, including "La Fille du Nord".

A bit of auto harp, diatonic harmonica, guitar finguer picking, a touch of fiddle strings (and a bit of flute) in this cover

I've come to appreciate Bob Dylan more as time goes by. And it's interesting to hear this one sung en francais (plus, you sing better than Bob). Excellent arrangement, too.

Well done!

Hi Jean,
Love the harmonica!
And your vocals is simply floating, and has perfect reverb!!!
Beautiful song, and this one I might have missed.
Loved hearing this from you, excellent version!
Well done, my friend!

I've always liked this Bob Dylan song. Dylan also did a duet with Johnny Cash on Girl From The North Country from his Nashville Skyline album. You should check it out. Lovely harmonica and finger picking on the acoustic. The auto harp puts a nice feel to it and great vocal JP!

This is a little different for you, and yet totally you. Lovely.

I was originally familiar with Pete Townshend's adaptation of the song, "North Country Girl", and for years didn't know it was a take on Dylan's song – not until I heard Rosanne Cash's version. In fact... I'm still not sure if I've heard the original Dylan version. Will seek it out. Maybe. Not sure I need to hear it now.

Thanks Ted
Let's give credit where credit is due, here is the original version
The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan is the second studio album by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan. It was released on 27 May 1963 on Columbia Records.
The album is still considered one of the highlights of his discography and was added to the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress in 2002.

The album was released in 1963 ...it was with songs like North country girl and don't think twice that I discovered finguerpincking...
Well, personally I prefer Dylan's productions, before the electrification that made so much noise  ;D

I agree 100%, Nashville Skyline is a great album, and I discovered this song on that  duet with Johnny Cash. Anyway extremely good version, JP. Many congrats.

this may be my favorite recording I have heard of yours to date.  The way you have recorded and effected the vocals is superior JP.  Sounds like heaven come to earth!  Bravo.
Also that finger picking is to die for.
