during my wanderings on You tube I found this song that I did not know
"Good Time Charlie's Got the Blues" is a song written and performed by Danny O'Keefe.

It was first recorded by O'Keefe in 1967
It was covered by numerous artists Elvis Presley, Willie Nelson, Leon Russell, Jerry Lee Lewis 'for those I know) ...and Carson Mc Kee, a very talented young guy from North Carolina, accomplice of Josh Turner (the Other Favorite)

Listening to this song I immediately thought of Rene (Asologuitar)
it's very much in his style and he would sing much better than me
  ;)
I respectfully dedicate this cover to him ;) Not a valid attachment ID.
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

This is too funny I worked on two songs for the fest yesterday Cest La Vie and this one but left this one alone and thought it would need some slide guitar to make it sound right very nice brother

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

because this song was on the radio I knew it... nice song.  I think the version I heard mostly was Leon Russell but I am not sure... I don't remember the other ones listed singing this...
really love your singing on this... got a big wide full lovely sound to it.

I didn't know the song, until I recently heard the cover on Carson McKee's channel, which I found through Josh Turner's channel, as you know  :)

Your performance on this is very soothing and especially like your vocals and the subtle slide guitar (your old trusty weissenborn?). Very well sung and recorded and mixed.

indeed it's after hearing the version of Carson Mc Kee, Josh Turner's accomplice, that I wanted to try it
I didn't know this song before either

Here it is not the Weissenborn guitar but the Dobro (lap steel version but with resonator)

the sound is treated a lot with

Rea eq (reaper)
rea verb (reaper , with Taj Mahal convolution)
JS stereo enhancer (reaper)
MStereo expander (Melda Production)

This denatures a bit the original sound of the Dobro...

Oh you got a serious atmosphere going here Jean Pierre. Really laid back but beautiful playing. The slide bits are perfect. And vocal is great too.
