True is the third studio album by English band Spandau Ballet, released on 4 March 1983 by Chrysalis Records. It reached number one on the UK Albums Chart, number 19 on the US Billboard 200. It was also Spandau Ballet's first album to be recorded outside of London.

Dedicated to the promotion of truth!!!
Fake news might be driven by power and greed, but honesty and civility always surface to the top.

For all our innocent children.
May we be like the little children.
No malice, no greed, simply human!!!

A lovely performance Rene and hard to believe it's nearly 40 years ago. Whenever I hear this song it reminds me of sitting in my Triumph Spitfire in 1983 on the seafront at Southport (a coastal town near where I live) with my wife-to-be eating chinese noodles. Must have been on the radio at the time !

Nicely played sir. You have a great voice and this is an excellent stripped down take on this song.

A masterful performance, Rene. Great vocal work on a song that I personally could not hope to master. If anything I think I prefer this version to the original; more poignant and emotive. Just brilliant.

This was a delight! First hearing the great performance by Rene, and then following it by reading what Pete wrote.

You've managed to take a song that's overtly familiar and make it your own. I doubt the original artist could carry it like this without the production. It certainly wouldn't sound this good.

The guitar playing is always handled well. There's very little to comment on that. It's always perfectly balanced to support the vocals which are the reason we're here. I can imagine people cathering around a campfire, listening to Rene and getting lost into the music.

I don't unfortunately remember when i first heard the original. I would imagine that the first time i heard it... I went YUCK and changed the channel ;) But times change.
