This hurts. A lot. For some unexplained reason i felt like doing a soft cover of this 80's W.A.S.P classic. The playing didn't hurt that much, but as soon as i got to the vocals. Oh boy...

Mixing this thing and hearing the vocals i felt like something slowly dying inside :D Those "youuu" etc. parts are SO painful sounding.

I'm kinda happy how i managed to take the ROCK out of this song, but those vocals... Damn. Any takers? Otherwise i might have to suffer some more later...

This is one of those times where i think there's something seriously wrong with my hearing...

I re-recorded the vocals with SM58 (the others were RODE NT1-USB) and this time there's main vocals + another vocal mixed lower + two backing vocals. And i'm STILL messing up those "you" -parts (among others).

OMG!

I've listened to both recordings and, to be honest, if you'd not pointed out the bit you don't like I don't think I'd have noticed. Even with you pointing out those bits, I don't really think they sound bad anyway. I don't know the original so I've no reference point to compare to so to me it sounds totally ok. I like the guitar work... there's a few bits that remind me of Khruangbin.

I think it sounds great in either version. I'm not familiar with the work of W.a.s.p. So I don't have any preconceptions or expectations. And even if I did, so what?  Own it. This is much more indie than I was expecting, which is a good thing.

Hi Zoltan,
This is the first time I have listened to this song, and I love this recording.
The rasp in your voice is so nice!
Of course, the guitar is lovely, as usual.
My hearing must also be bad, I am not noticing the "bads" you are referring to.
Thanks for sharing this song.

You might think your vocals are bad and maybe they are.  What do I know?  I know I like them... You have desire, passion, integrity in your vocals.
Love that reverb d guitar...majorly great.

I didn't know this song, so out of curiosity I listened on YT to the WASP's version...well, I hope the WASP's won't take it the wrong way but I prefer your version ;)
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

OMG!

I wonder if Rode actually intended for the mic to be a RODENT?  Singing into a rats butt sounds quite good.
