Brand new original.  Done in Cakewalk borrowing some elements from Reason 12 via the rack plugin.  Lyrically inspired by Christopher Cross (Ride Like the Wind) and Steely Dan (Don't take Me Alive).  Hope you enjoy!

Throughout my life it's been a struggle
The few things I've had came by so hard
I've never been a child of fortune
Most of everyday I've been abused

Five years ago some trouble found me
Lost several Grand.  A losing hand
I killed the man who won my fortune
Took to the road.  Did not look back
Since then I sleep with one eye opened
and my back to no one

But better days will follow me soon
I'll survive.  I follow the moon
I cannot stop.  Cannot fall
I have no life at all.

I have to run.  I must keep moving
Can never stop.  My life's at stake
Sometimes I think I'll turn myself in
This kind of life is getting old
But would they hang me or will
they let me slowly rot in their jail?

(Really.  Which is worse?)

But better days will follow me soon
I'll survive.  I follow the moon
I cannot stop.  I will fall
I have no life at all.

Hi John, I love Christopher Cross and Steely Dan!
Vocals and melody are very nice, well recorded as well.
I also hear little bit of Beatles in this tune.
Very nicely done.
Love the playfulness of the music, and instrumentation!!!
Well done, John!!!

Love these melodic tunes you post, John. Remarkable production/arrangement and that bass is brilliant. Harmonic structure is other-worldly and cool lyrics too. Excellent work.

It seems as if you have been a little busier posting lately... loving this one too JB!  The drum track really fits the bass and piano and provides a super backdrop to your great vocals.
busy and interesting.... your recording and mix are excellent.!!!

JB you're a musical treasure! Such a sense of melody and an ear for harmony. The way the song builds takes the listener for a ride. And i'm really loving those characteristic JohnBee vocals!
