Paul McCartney began writing "Your Mother Should Know" on a harmonium at his house in St John's Wood, London.

Mothers know best, and give them credit, as a love of a Mother transcends all explanations this world can offer, and is genuinely pure and natural.

This tune is for all Mothers, on this Mother's Day!
My first grandchild, grandson Misiri Kalayaan is born today!  Mother Rocio, Congratulations!

My Mama, and my lovely wife Mimi, and to all Moms - Thanks for all that you do, for your unconditional love!!

SM-58(b) for vocals in this one? With additional pop filter? Any particular reason for this recording setup? You're quite far away from the microphone so i'd guess you're driving it hard with compressor.

The sounds are fine! And the performance is stellar (as always :)). Cool slightly jazz tinged cover, and you're clearly closer to Finland in this one as you're wearing a beanie!

Sorry for the amount of questions. I'm at that age :D

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

I am embarrassed to say I don't remember this tune, but you do a great version. You have such a natural elastic singing voice. Very envious.

Cool audio laboratory as well.

Another cool perfomance ! Love how you did your own backing vocals too !

Hi Zoltan,
Thanks for the feedback and the questions.
This is an older recording, and I have changed my set-up since then.
On this recording I am using my Bose Tonematch mixer, no compressor, straight into Presonus audio interface, into my IMAC, recorded in QuickTimePlayer movie.
The pop filter is just an additional prevention of my pops and sass's.
My new set up consist of:
2 mics - Shure SM-58 for guitar, Ear Trumpet Labs "Edwina" for vocals
into Yamaha MG10XU Mixer
into UAD Volt 2/76 audio interface
into IMAC, recorded in QuickTimePlayer movie.
I like my new set-up better.
Thanks Zoltan.
Rene
Glad to be closer to Finlandia!!!

Thanks so much Hooper!!!
You are so much appreciated.
And my music room is definitely my hang-out place for music.
Thanks again!

Hi Blooby,
Thanks for the very nice feedback!
My lab is truly a work in progress.
A lot of yard sales and stuff to collect the musical items.
Thanks again!!!

Hi Pete,
Always a great pleasure to hear from you.
Love your comments, and we have to do whatever we can to add to the sauce.
Thank you Pete!!!

René you had a great voice and unlike me you don't need any recording tricks to improve it

But tell me finally what are all those guitars behind you on the video?
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.
