From George Harrison's 'All Things Must Pass' album... A bunch of songs that had accumulated on the back burner during his Beatle Years.

Was experimenting with slide on this one. Took my cheap lap steel guitar and put only 4 plain steel strings on it and tuned like the first 3 strings of guitar Open E tuning (G# B EE) That seems to make things a bit easier for me...

thanks for listening,

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

I think as long as there's people like Hooper the 60's and 70's have never ended. If you can get this sound and feel at this day and age not all is lost. Soulful and relaxed. Easy and smooth.

QuoteIsn't It A Pity from 1972

According to Wikipedia, All Things Must Pass was released 27 November 1970 and the single for Isn't It a Pity was released 23 November 1970. I checked a couple of other references as well and they agreed with Wikipedia. So I'm afraid this doesn't qualify for 1972 Fest. Sorry.

Okay 64 looks like you're right, my mistake and I apologize. I thought I had checked but maybe just thought so because of remembering where I was at in 1972. I'll have to call it a 'senior moment'.  So, It is a pity but it turns out not one from 1972...  ???

it isn't a pity that I got to hear your lovely rendition of this song good sir...so mistake or no, it is a good one to make because maybe you would not have recorded it otherwise... especially noteworthy are the vocals imo... guitarists are a dime a dozen (your work is very nice...)voices like yours are not that easy to find...
I would imagine you sang pretty high when younger cause it sounds like you still got a good range...

I knew this would be amazing. I love this song and album, and you've covered it sumptuously. Just gorgeous depth and love in every department. And your production (as expected) is beautiful. Totally fantastic - fest entry or not!

TPB

Well it might not be 1972 but still a fun song to play and sing too Me and Jean did a cover of it a couple months ago and had a blast.  This is so well covered by you really enjoyed it

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Quote from: BerryPatch on May 05, 2022, 08:58:59 AMI love this track so much (like TPB and JP, I made a cover of it last year for BeatlesFest) and you made a great version. The slide guitar is perfect and your vocals have a real George Harrison tinge to them here. I absolutely love the laid back atmosphere here and the production is outstanding. Well done!
