L'amore Cresce, Theme from Amore Idiota (1972).

This is the theme song from Amore idiota (1972). Italian/Turkish co-production directed by Bruno D'amato. Starring Marc Sheldon, Ajita Funari and some lesser known genre faces.

Originally envisioned as a pilot for television series. It was never aired, but instead was released on vhs in at least three countries.

The story is all over the place, but the main storyline follows a young fisherman who gets stranded on an island filled with natives. The natives are in fact the last of the Mindanao cannibal tribe. There's a collision of cultures when our lovelorn hero Marc tries to bag a lady while the ladies of the island see him mostly as a long pig.

Overall the movie is a family friendly affair, although there's lots of animal mating scenery (taken from archival footage). There's also a harder German vhs cut with the title "Idiot auf einer Kannibalen-Sex-Insel", released by Ribu Video in 1982. This version is much harder as it removes some of the comedic elements and adds x-rated inserts.

The theme song translates as Love Grows and is composed by Ennio Tarzanello. To attract wider audiences the song was sung in english, and the movie was also dubbed. Those who are familiar with euro cult movies are bound to find familiar voices from the movie dub.

The audio quality is quite bad as this was taken from a vhs source.

sounds legit to me... I was cracking up reading your narrative...but the music is splendid and does have that 1970's early vibe like age of aquarius and up up and away in my beautiful balloon...

well done !!!  glad you made it back to the SC vacuum vortex

Another brilliant entry!

The theme echoes early Seventies theme music in a way I find more interesting now than the ones I remember growing up in the US at the time. Audio quality sounds pretty good on my phone, too. ;)

Well done!

Beautiful theme Zoltan and the show sounds like a real hoot ;). The mixture of guitars/keys are lovely and your soft vocals are great. Super relaxing
