1972Fest (banner image missing)

This one is one of my favorite Eagles songs, from their first album 1972.  Glad I was able to get this done before the end of the fest!  I did the acoustic rhythm guitars and all the vocals. The Drums, Bass, and Lead Guitars are virtual instruments using a midi transcription - I spent a lot of time trying to get everything close to sounding authentic.

2 rhythm acoustic guitar tracks, Taylor GS mini (panned L/R)
1 main vocal + 1 faint doubletrack
1 backing vocal, using Waves Ultrapitch plugin to generate harmonies
4 backing vocals, woooo's
All recorded with AT-4040 mic into Onyx Blackjack 2x2 USB interface

Drums - EZ Drummer 1 (midi)
Bass - MODO Bass, 70s P-Bass model (midi)
Picked acoustic guitar and lead electric guitars/pedal steel - Sampletank 3/4 (midi)
Mixed and Mastered in Reaper

Coincidentally (!), two of my last few covers before this fest were also songs from 1972:

Hey Stephen, thanks for the comment!  I actually just now added two more tracks with higher pitched ooooohhhs and reposted. This morning when I tried to do it (falsetto) my voice was cracking, but tonight after my voice had the whole day to warm up I tried again and pulled it off ok I think.

Great song one of the first songs I wanted to learn how to play years ago
Great harmonies and yes you got the whoo's down perfect. This is always a great song to play at the acoustic event everybody knows the words and sings along

Life is not about the number of Breathes you take, it is the amount of times your breathe is taken away

Lovely job Doug. You got the feel of this just right. I saw a tribute band playing this song in a local venue recently. Strangely although I know the track it's not been played to death like Hotel California and one or two others on the radio so it sounds fresh to me. Super vocal and perfect rhythm playing.

one of my favorite bands of the 70's, and I didn't remember this song, very well done, even if I don't like the sound of the lead guitar in the introduction which sounds too midi
but the accompanying guitar is excellent
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Wonderful job Doug, your voice is once again absolutely perfect for this! You always have great cover choices and this is another knockout. The harmonies are lovely as well and the midi solos sound really good! Great to hear from you again
