Psychedelic fest entry.  A bit of self indulgent widdling as Paul is known to say...
but this does have a purpose beside being self indulgent, to tell a story.  I have attached a photo of a "new" guitar I "lucked" into.
The other day I had a bunch of work done on a  2007 Toyota that was my mom's (God rest her soul) and my son is going to be driving it as a first car so we don't have to carry collision on it (saves a ton of insurance money).  The alternator bearings were going noisy so the alternator was changed by the shop.  There were quite a few other things done as well with the idea that we could use this for a good while hopefully.
The day after I got the car back I dropped Markus off at school and was heading home.  There had been a battery check engine light come on but the car seemed to run normal so I kept driving.  A few miles from school the electronics on the car all went haywire and the car started running very rough.  I was fortunate enough to get it into a parking lot before it died...and it died onto the downhill slope into the parking lot.  So I was busy calling the repair shop and to arrange a ride home and wouldn't you know it I was parked in front of a pawn shop.  I am never one to go into pawn shops but I could not resist to see about any guitars, not intending to buy any.  Well, they had about 5 that were really nice buys.  I ended up getting this Jay Turser Strat copy for $60 dollars... that is like free in my book.
so this song is called who is jay turser and is the guitar to demonstrate it.  it has 3 single coil pickups and a five position switch.  Really like it after clean up and new strings... 3 tracks with 1 Shecter bass track...
I can't believe I got this for 60 bucks...

Swirly goodness! The way the track begun made me think of psychedelic swamp. There's also a constant push and pull with other elements. The way it plays makes the listener to wait for an explosion of sorts, but instead you're able to keep it cool and the listener glued into the song. At times i felt like i was listening something made for Miami Vice (only the synths were missing).

Great story with both tension (car troubles) and release (finding the guitar). You're right that's an absolute steal and sounds great on the track! I'm sure it holds lots of songs inside.

There's an Epiphone hanging behind you with a signature. It must be the Stephen signature model :D Only the color is all wrong. It should be green. Perhaps it's a prototype!

thanks Z and since I will likely get asked again about the signature...lol... it's signed by Rockie Lynne.  I was so impressed with him as a guitar player, and singer I asked him to sign it.  While he is no mega star he is indeed a star from Nashville... he is an exceptional song writer, guitarist, and singer who has made his living off music his adult life.  Plus he overcame being a orphan having grown up in the Carolina Boys Home in Troutville, NC.  He is a real beautiful story of overcoming.  I wanted some of that to rub off on me hence I asked him to play and sign my guitar.!!!!

I think Stephen took it down for further additions...

Stephen: The stuff you've told about Rockie Lynne makes him a star in my book! Cool idea and a bit of a good luck also. He seems to have a nice handwriting. Otherwise you might have ended up with a good idea and a bad outcome. A guitar with some chicken scratchings on it :D

Hi Stephen,
What a cool story on your new jewel guitar.
I will have to listen to your song a bit later, as I am having issues finding it.
At any case, I hope you fix your Toyota.  I am also going to invest some money on my 1999 Toyota 4Runner, as I am having some transmission issues with it at this time.  Hope to have a few more miles on this stick shift baby, and it only have 180,000 miles on it at this time.
Congratulations on your beautiful guitar find!!!
