"Miserable Mess" a FLMET2018 Bruno & Hook original for PunkFest

Got together with Bruno last night and we managed to knock 2 tunes out before he and his family head home. I had some lyrics when I showed up and knew this was a punk song. Bruno made a beat on his Electribe and I add the distorted Uke. I remembered a splitter and an Electric guitar this time. Bruno put down the bass & guitar & I added 2 tracks of vocals. Love the way this one turned out.

The lyrics to the last verse is so prog – you could re-contextualize that without changing a word, and you'd have Yes song. My first thought was that this didn't really sound punk, but then I remembered that early punk didn't really have a recognizable phenotype. In those days music that didn't sound like the polished, formulaic music coming from the mainstream music industry was what made it punk. Punk was defined largely in the negative – by what it wasn't.

It's so great that you and Bruno got to meet up leave a mark.
