Hooks got more drums

Told my wife about it the other day and she seemed pretty cool. We'll see when she's looking at it every day. I spent a whopping 20 min. figuring out how to program the YDD60 (should have done that a long time ago). It has 3 user kits so I printed off the 2 page list of drum sounds and made nice cymbal kit. I'm gonna play around and make 2 more auxiliary kits to supplement the ion kit. All in all it will be like 15 pieces. I think I can even program the pedals of the YDD60 but that seems a little silly!
Interestingly enough I saw a kit on craigslist this morning (what the hell is wrong with me?????) it was an alesis & it looked exactly like the ion except for the bass drum. The brain was the same and everything, I imagine that ion is a direct rip off company? If I can get a little motivation I'm gonna record something!
Rock on!

Alesis and Ion Audio are both owned by inMusic Brands.

So it's not a ripoff - just some cross-branding. Could be a good thing for you since information, parts, etc. might be hard to find for Ion Audio products but you should have no trouble finding the same for the Alesis kit. I'm guessing your Ion drum kit is virtually the same as the Alesis DM6, except that the DM6 comes with a ride cymbal and a crash cymbal.

Alesis also makes (or made) the DM6 Express which, like your Ion kit, has only one cymbal (aside from the hi-hat). The extra cymbal is available as an accessory to upgrade the DM6 Express. I imagine it would work with your Ion kit too.

Of course, knowing you and your knack for bargain-finding, you'll probably find one that somebody wants to trade for a pack of Mentos. :D

There are lots of posts about the DM6 on the Alesis forum:

Those are great looking gadgets.  I love gadgets, especially musical ones.  They'd never make it past the front door in my house though, sadly.

Super GAS - looking good Bro. Mazz keeps taking the micky out of my endless purchases. Walking past a music store today, saying on my behalf "got that, got that, got 3 of those....", cheeky! I haven't got a drum kit, that said, I can't play drums. Good thing really as I haven't got the space :-)
