Here is my Sunday night project. I just had to get one more in before the weekend was up and its back to work. I love The Band, here is a great one of theirs, I had to do some more harmonies to make it sound right. Simple song, but really great. Peace.
All played by me (acoustic, strat, bass) into the microBR. As for the harmonies, I had a little help from my new toy, the Harmony-G (https://songcrafters.org/forum/general-discussion-b8/bluesberrys-vocal-harmony-stompbox/msg39353/#msg39353).
Your Best Vox Yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I Mean Your Best Vox Yet!!!!!!!!
The Empathy in your tone for these lyrics is wonderful!

Hey, BB - It's bedtime for the Newfies, ain't it? (I had a buddy from St. Stephen that used to hate when I called him that :D We went to Husson College in Bangor, ME together.)
You found a really cool niche, man - those harmonies are to die for. I love this!! I don't have a lot of Band stuff, but a friend of mine does, so I've heard a bit.
I have to say it again - those verse and chorus harmonies were perfectly put together. It's a short song, so I've listened to it four times since I've written this - this is so good it sounds like it came off a record.
Your best vocal performance I have ever heard so far.
I frickin' love it!
(I'll stop now so I don't sound like an weirdo..)

And thats all it is......
Wow, BB... you are definitely channeling the spririt of The Band in this one. What a terrific job - in all respects. You hit those harmonies really well, and mixed them in beautifully. It's a great song, and I can understand why you're on a high with it!
Sounds great and more fabulous harmonies - you're on a roll there! But it stops suddenly afetr 1:30. Is that intentional or am I just having some problems with the player? It was sounding great up til then, you are truly inspired!
Cheers,
Nigel
Those Harmonies are getting better and better Well Done!
Thanks for the comments, Nigel the player works for me, for sure it goes past 1:30. in fact it is just getting to a good part ;), you will have to give it another go. Once I started working on this song, I became like a man possessed, I just couldn't stop until finished, that happens sometimes doesn't it. It was sounding so good as I was laying it down I just had to get it finished and posted. I tried to give the instrumentation a "Band" feel, especially that bass line, I am no bass player so I was happy with how that turned out.
As for the harmonies, I had a little help from my new toy, the Harmony-G (https://songcrafters.org/forum/general-discussion-b8/bluesberrys-vocal-harmony-stompbox/msg39353/#msg39353).
Bloody Faaqntastic!
It's magic!
You sounded great Blues! You really did mix this great and you bass playing was just fine.
Cool stuff. Like the Harmonies alot.
Great Job!!
JIM
this songs gets better every time i hear-awesome job bb
tc sounds real natural (gas)
BB - THAT'S IT!! Whatever the settings, keep them. You've hit bullseye. I'm from the When-It-Sounds-Right-It-Is Tendency. And that sounds damn-right! With that sound, (And I bet you worked hard to make it sound so simple?), you wouldn't have been out of place in the Original Woodstock Line-up. Very well done. Now, you can transfer your new techniques to your own songs. ;)
Wow BB - Great job!! Those harmonizing vocals really make this song SING!!
I've never really heard much of The Band's music, so I'm getting a music education!

Thats the plan Steve, thanks for that. And you are right , it was a lot of trial and error and frigging around to get it to sound so effortless and smooth (funny about that hu). But now I have something that sounds good and I can use again.
Thanks for all the great comments (too many to mention by name), I really like how this song came out.
Sounds great to me too, not a great fan of the Band, but I like this lots!!
