First recording with the new BR-80 :)
(details later)____update 2012-01-05:____
The prosess of making this made me realize how much I've missed my MBR :) The portability of the Micros are unbeatable and allows for a songwriting workflow that suits my messy mind ;D
I'll post my first impressions of the BR-80 soon, but for now I'll just say : IT'S LOUD !!!!!
backingtrack can now be found HERE (https://songcrafters.org/forum/index.php?topic=13470.0)
song-info updated with instruments used:
Year of the Monkey
w/m: Geir
Ibanez ST300 electric guitar
Ibanez GSR200 bass
Micro BR-80 Drums
Vocals through MicroBR-80 internal mics
oooh ooooh ooooh
Excellent! Guitars sound fantastic. Are the drums from the BR-80's drum machine? They sound really good, especially the cymbals. If that's the drum machine, I'm impressed by how much Roland has improved the sound of it with the BR-80.
a jump in and lets go straight away tune that you've just got love .....a great start for the year of the Monkey
I proud to say this is one of the first songs i have listened to this year!
Awesome guitar work!
Year of the monkey indeed!!
Great boogie woogie. Happy new year to every body !
a year when no one, no more get to drink no more stale beer
It would already be pretty good ;)

A Geir monkey-tastic classic. Is it the year of the monkey? Sure is now I guess.
Love the guitars and vox. High energy, high fun and can only hope the lyrics come true. The BR-80 is sounding pretty sharp, this is a really nice recording. More details soon please!
Cheers,
Nigel
Firstly, this is a really reallly great tune, love,in those guitars big time and the vox is just magic and as Nigel says more details on the BR 80, just too good!!
Hot Damn!
A monkey with a Micro BR, given an infinite amount of time, could not have recorded that.
Oooo! New toy! New toy! New toy!
Nice song!
Nice tune Geir, the guitars sound awesome, lots of power in the track.
Happy new year!!
eheheh Magic Geirness!
Are you sure we are using the same BR? Don't know why, my songs sound worst!
Great lyrics and love that frantic bass!
Monkey Madness again! I can still picture the monkey riding a goat GIF going along with this.
Love the lyrics, bass and that guitar solo fix perfect! Damn the whole song is amazing as usual
from you!

Indeed the drums are from the BR80 ! Yeah, I'm pretty impressed with the sound of them too. On this song I used a combination of some country and some HrdRock patterns ::) and used the "HARD" kit.

Well .... no .... at least not in China :D But I think it might be in Porsgrunn ;D

Thanks Ted !! You always find the right words (tho they often go un-noticed by many !)... made my day !!

Happy new yeaeeeer:)

I always forget what an incredibly good guitarist you are. Great uplifting song, sounds ace and you've got the BR-80!! You bummer.... ;)
henwrench
I made a mix without the lead guitars and vocals and posted it in the member-made backing track section.
You can find it HERE (https://songcrafters.org/forum/index.php?topic=13470.0) if you want to play around with it or just listen to the track without my annoying voice ;D
Nick, Mark ... thanks for your feedback ! much appreciated !!
Happy new year !!
I like it Geir! The harmony guitars are way cool. I hear a little J. Lennon in your vocal.......which is always a good thing. Good song writing and playing!

Hot damn Geir, I freaking love this. The fullness of the sound....feeling.....vibe here. You have tamed the BR-80 in one single outing................slam dunk man. How are you liking the BR-80. I agree about the drums, 1000% improvement on the old microBR drum machine. Same with the guitar effects. And the portability, I am with you on that one. You always make it sound so easy, but of course it is still hard work to make it sound so easy. Your songs are always a joy to listen to.
Short sharp..head down no nonsense here my man...
you know how to deliver a tune:)
mighty fine dude:)
cheers
nick
Very "geiristic" monkey song :) :) . Stunning rocker with brill lyrics!! I love it!! Congrats for the BR-80, too!!
Kari
I went ape over this song!
No monkeying around here. Straight-up, in-your-face gorilla rock!
Well done!
Smokin' song Geir, and by that I think you might have been smoking when you wrote it!
I dug every note buddy.
Oo! Oo! Oo! Ah! Ah!

very nicely done man!
Reminds me of Dylan when he's rocking out Planet Waves style - loved it! Great guitar sound and hook - are those drums real or programmed? They sound real...
OTD!
Rock On!
The guitars are great all around, I love the doubled (almost chorus) guitars. I agree that the drums sound good and I like the vox. Great energy.
A shameless masterbump as I just realised that I wrote this 4 years too early ;D
