Sorry folks, but I don't have this in mp3 format, so I'm just posting a link where I have it posted on ebutuoy.  :P  I know that's not the preferred method, but I'll get around to posting the mp3 someday. Maybe... I think. ;)  I learned a lot from this one - like bring the vocals out more and ease up on the reverb.  I'm not much of a singer, and my real passion is song writing. I hope you enjoy this and that it means something to you.

This was recorded on my BR600.

<------------------------- just come from "clarity" and again WOW  :o
seriously this is very good, i love the melody, and your voice is excellent, i would like to hear the vocals more forward but great job, i especially like your acoustic sound its so smooth, mine ends up sounding harsh and tinny and that solo, i thought clapton himself was making an appearance!!!

Hey Rick, that was GOOD!!! I love the way it starts off fairly 'simple',then builds. Nice voice too, kind of laid back.
Can't wait to hear more.
I always say, if I can leave somebody happy and smiling at the end of the day-----I've completely f*cked up!!

Thanks guys. I especially appreciate the comments about the vocals, but to be honest, what you hear is actual a combination of at least 3 different takes. It's a real struggle for me. Drat that dang acid reflux!!!

Michael, I've been experimenting with different ways to capture the acoustic tone and still haven't found one I really like. I think on this one I tweaked the eq to tone down some of that tinny sound you referenced. That seems to really help.  I have noticed that the type of pick makes a huge difference, especially if I'm using the on board mics. As you experiment I would appreciate ideas you have.  Always searching for the holy grail of tone.

That was really good. Vox was fine at the start but got a bit buried as it built up, easy to sort using an envelope in a DAW, not so simple on a BR.Great song tho, well played and sung ... you have a very strong voice.
Try recording acoustic with effects off, then add them after (If needed). Try to get the mike close to the top otf the neck, not over the hole.

Thanks Steve. I'll give that a try.

Awesome - I like how this one builds. The vocal harmony parts were very good. Didn't notice the different vocals sections that you spoke of. If it bothers you, though, sometimes putting each section on a different track helps - that way you can control the levels in stronger parts of the song. When you are happy, you can then bounce everything into two tracks.

Great song - It's definitely working for me!!

I feel the same way myself, but keep at it, because you have a very good, appealing, full of character voice that compliments your original songs very very well.  This is another gem of yours, you are telling stories here, real true stories.  Your connection with the lyrics is very strong, I feel everything you are singing about.  This is a very well written song.  I am impressed!!!!!!
