Acoustic amp necessary ?

Well I picked up a 2012 Taylor 314 ce on the weekend and played it through a Line 6 Spider Jam.
A bit of hiss but not bad (not playing on stage anymore) with some effects and reverb etc it sounds pretty good although I have nothing to compare it to. The Yamaha acoustic amp sounds like it might be ideal though.
I also have a line on a Crate 30 acoustic amp for $60 used...might be an inexpensive option.
