is it possible to export a midi file of your drum arrangement or drum patterns?

i want to be able to import them into Garageband and then possibly add a VST like Addictive drums or EZDrummer to make it sound more realistic.

if i can't do this, is it at least possible to export just the drum track on it's own as a stereo wav file?

the reason i'd like to export as midi, is because i want to be able to split up each of the drum parts (kick, snare, etc) on their own separate tracks for better mixing.

No, but you can connect the Midi Out from the BR-864 to the Midi In of a sequencer and save the arrangement or pattern to a midi file from the sequencer. I've done that before with my Yamaha PSR-2100 keyboard which has a built-in sequencer. You could also use a software sequencer on your computer if you have a midi interface.

Yes. First you have to bounce the arrangement to a pair of tracks. To do that, enter bounce mode and drop the levels of all of the tracks to minimum except the drums. Zero the counter then record the arrangement. Now that it's on a pair of audio tracks, you can export them to a WAV file.

would it work to take a midi to usb cable, go from the midi out of the 864, into the usb port of a computer, and then open up a DAW that has a midi sequencer in it  (Fruity Loops, Ableton, Cubase, etc) and copy in the information that way?

Yes, that should work.

Interesting! Did anyone exported the microBR (or BR1200/1600 equivalent) to midi? Do you want to make those tracks available? I have to admit daws put me down because of the drums.
