Nice additions! Very tasteful and perfectly in keeping with the song.

Wonderfully crafted on both versions, this ticks all the boxes for me. Class posting with a

Hadn't been able to check out any music here for a couple days ... have some time to myself now and - wow! Found this! Great song in both versions - hypnotically funky both musically and vocally. And I was playing along on my banjo and discovered a new lick for my bag of banjo tricks. So, thanks for that, too.

Flow my ass!

Perhaps some context would be helpful. This is a quote from that other thread:

Quote from: henwrench on January 13, 2011, 06:23:49 AMWhat!! Next thing, somebody'll write a book about how to do a poo properly.

There are few things more satisfying to me than completing a song, and being happy with it. I find this to be a difficult process. I'm a very regular guy. If the songwriting aspect of my life were as regular and satisfying as the poo aspect of my life, I'd be a happy man.

Too much information?

ORH: You are a talented man.  The advice you give in this song is probably of limited help to people. About as helpful as the advice from a great painter who advises, "Paint what you see."

But the best advice is to at least try. You might surprise yourself.

I love the Eno-esque minimalism of the arrangement. You make some pretty bold choices in your music sometimes. Some arrangers would take it for granted that this song needs a bass part. I wonder if it even occurred to you. I doesn't need one.

Brilliant Jim, this is one of your best. That guitar (?) hook with the wonderful descending keyboard is supreb. The beauty flows into the gaps between the notes. It's so simple but incredibly effective, a stunner. I also really like the version with Ken's additions too, it gives it a bit of a different feel in a really nice way - makes it a tad more powerful.

It just needs a slightly better ending!

Cheers,

Nigel
