DSS original - Car break-in

Dear all,

First of all, please excuse my absence and lack of manners, and let me thank you for previous comments on my songs.

Some months ago, my car was broken-in. No serious harm or damage, except for an mp3 player that was stollen with... songcrafter's songs!!!

At the time Bluesberry suggested I should write a song on this. "great idea" I thought, but then I started struggling with lyrics, etc. Finally I decided that some junkie stealing an mp3 for selling for peanuts wasn't the story I wanted to tell, and immediately changed the orientation of the song. The lyrics are self-explainable!


Car Break-In

Let me tell you a story about a bad bad man
he roams the streets in a black sedan

He's not held by decency when he wants something
The name of this bastard is DaSilvaSings

He goes at night to steal other's songs
without any respect to whom they belong

He never hesitates to break-in a car
In his greed to become a uberpopstar

He came from Alpha-Centauri

He steals other's songs
And he knows is all wrong

It was the uberpopstar who broke-in a car

Sorry about that, but these things enter our brains, and stay there. It was not my fault (miguel's)... it is just that evil dasilvasings... anyway...

Great track Miguel, it's got me smilin' - hilarious "turn of events" story telling. Love the crunchy guitar sound and your deadpan vocal approach...very cool!

Your bass line is what is grabbing me right off.  Your vocal like this gives it a kind of weird cowboy song vibe for some reason.  Fantastic arrangement.  I am very glad to have you back around posting some original stuff...lovely.  Don't worry about disappearing from time to time, we all do that once in a while, I am on a low activity phase myself right now...as long as you come back, thats the main thing.

Brilliant! I love the lyrics, and I love the way you twisted it to be you! Fabulous guitar sounds and great chord sequences, and a really catchy song. I might just steal this myself!!

Oh, and I also think the bass line is brilliant, and I loved the ending!

Great attitude and tone on the guitars, and that bassline is just brilliant. This is a great song! Excellent use of sound fx too. Are they direct samples from Grand Theft Auto? Sorry to hear about the theft - I hope your insurance covers a new, top of the range mp3 player.
