What the hell?  I was about to praise the quality of the vocals.

I didn't bat an eye when drum machines became commonplace.

I was slightly annoyed when bass loops could be substituted for real bass players.

But now you can just drag and drop vocals?

Sir, you are on the threshold of drag-and-drop lyrics! The line must be drawn here. This far. No further.

hi ted.
dont u understand. that sampling and looping are very common in todays
electronic music. i dont know if u r saying this is good or bad. that s not
the intent of the song. the intent is todemonstrate that good music can
b made by using royal free loops and sample.s that alone can b very challenging
well take care. have a good weekend . every musician has their critics.
no problem here. take care NEIL

I can't really believe that looped vox would work this way, but they do. I liked this, it sounds great, you definitely demonstrated you can build a traditional rock song this way.

Whether it's a good or a bad thing I don't really know! I find it a bit confusing when a very traditional rock song is entirely composed of loops, as it;s not what I would expect. This is very common in ambient and electronica, where the loops on their own are not really "music", they are more like sounds and I think there's a lot of art in creating a soundscape out of them (something you do really well Neil). But you could argue that assembling loops for a song like this is kind of like what a composer does.

I'm confused! But I enjoyed this anyway, it really didn;t sound like it was all loops.

Cheers,

Nigel

Thanks Nigel
for the kind words. and understand u explained it very well re ted. it s an art to arrange
an loop these samples into one complete song. as u said done a lot with new  age etc.
and may i mentionmoviesound tracks as u know..

Who cares how the music is made. if it sounds good enjoy it
why b so techy about how it s made. either way thanks and i hope
ted understands what we r goal was here . tc NEIL

Neil: I think you're taking my comment the wrong way. I thought it was pretty funny, but maybe it's more obtuse than I expected it to be.

I'm confused as well!  All those lyrics are just small loops you assembled or are they just pulled from another song of the same melody and order?  It sounds just like it was built from scratch and sung complete.  Excellent work either way!

First o f all ted i did take it the wrong way. i know now what u mean by comical
perhaps this shuld b re wired into comedy fest lo .thanks for clarifying your previous
comment.

To all who listen tot this. yes in royal free loops u can drag and drop any instrument
into the mixing time line..see www. magix .com for further explanation what they
do is give u 1000 s of smples re vocals intruments drums bases . and u arrange
them by looping together. it s the same concept as fl studio and mixcraft 5 has
which i have both of  those softwares. also .

lets say u want to add a funky bass to the theme u just drag it on the the track
u r laying or vocals. might have sung by a studio musician if the winter was
cold and skies were grey . u can take that one loop and stage that on to the
track many possiblilites. i hope this claries. that show a lot of my movie scores
r done .hope this clarifie s like i said if interested to to www. magix .com
or visit fl studio will help clarify thanks ted tc NEIL
