I love this song--although I can't relate to it at all!

I've never fallen for anyone who was universally disapproved of by my friends and family. (I've also never had enough money where gold digging could have been suspected.)

What makes this an interesting song is that the true dynamics at play within the relationship are left for the listener to speculate.

Nelson, you are a songsmith of the highest order. Wonderful song, production and performance. The mix and arrangement are perfect.

Wow man, you scared for a moment.
I was thinking oh shit did I loose something. That was the first version.
I added some back up harmony and worked on the mix a bit, on this one.
Hope I didn't over do it.

But as far as the song itself.
Like I tell anyone who will listen. I will most likely never write a hit song or be a rock star.
I will probably never achieve wide spread recognition for my songwriting and definitely not for my playing or composing.
So why do I put so much into every song?  Because every song has a purpose and that is to affect someone, emotionally.
Honestly I can't write songs everyday just to post and share with friends and then on to the next one.
I some time envy folks that can do that and I love to hear so much good work from so many people but I don't love writing songs that much.
What I love is writing a few songs that touch people and that's where I find the joy.
It thrills me to no end to know when my songs effect someone so profoundly and I honestly appreciate you sharing it with me.
And you're right, I couldn't ask for more, from a song.
For now I live for that Pm, email or post where someone feels the need to let me know just how one of my songs have affected them.
This is what I live for and this is what I work towards when I write.

Thank You Brother

You have managed well in that! Great songwriting and performing, again Mr. Nelson.
