New Member: Phrase training help

Hi guys,

Hope you can help me. I am thinking of getting a micro br because i like transcribing the most and looking at the specs of this unit it seems just as good as the tascam unit (with even more features).

What i can't find on the web is how long you can loop a slowed down lick from an MP3.

I used to have an old Akai phrase trainer and you could only sample a 16 second section. Is there a time limit on the micro br sample loop.

Please forgive my ignorance, i'm not big on technology.

Hope you can guys can help me, i would be very grateful.

Hi there Martin, welcome!

There is no looping limit. You could slow down an entire song and loop it infinitely.

Thanks for the quick reply. Sounds exactly what i'm looking for. No time limit on loop plus it says it slows down to 25% speed. Perfect.

I've got another question for you.

Can you slow the track down, then make a loop, as opposed to making a loop, then slowing that down.  Hope that makes sense.

Look forward to hearing from you.

The slow down feature and looping feature are real-time. That means you can slow down the track as it plays and choose where it will be looped as it plays also. So you can make a loop first and then slow it down or vice-versa.

Check a slowing down feature sample here.

Cheers

Thats been of great help. Very much appreciated. I think i will definatly get one now.

From the reviews i've read, the tascam phrase trainer is'nt that good (and it only slows down to 50%).

Thanks for the info i could'nt get any where else. Brill.
