As always, critics welcome! (live drum version added 10/11)

-------------------------------------------------
CALL TO ORDER
-------------------------------------------------
It's time you go exploring
with me by your side

Once you see the wonders
you'll needn't have to hide

The marvels you'll uncover
will surely make you cheer

Then you will discover
there is no need for fear
-------------------------------------------------
There comes a time when all must find their way
And if they don't then surely they won't stay
For being where you do not have a say
Will cause a soul to sadly fade away
-------------------------------------------------
Just listen to your heart my friend
It's surely paid the price

The world is in a fragile state
And needs some good advice

Where have all the warriors gone
who fought for what is right

Have they all just disappeared
and given up the fight

We need a hero that won't fail
to battle evil's curse

One that stands for righteousness
and not just makes things worse
-------------------------------------------------
Now the truth is known again
you wonder why you fell

When the darkness comes around
you'll know that all is well

Soon you'll see the colors
of the light of day

Destiny becomes your guide
no more shades of gray

This was absolutely great!!  I loved the progression you use, your vox was outstanding, but the icing on the cake was your very cool chops placed exactly where they need to be!!   Again outstanding!  I enjoyed it very much!!

Yep, this is magical :)

I listened to the Soundclick stream first. And I was going to say that I think you need to push the vocals up a bit so that they sit nearer to the same volume as the lead break...

But when I listened to the Songcrafters version, whoo, loads better sound and much more balanced (what is it they do to uploads on Soundclick?! :D they seem to lose loads of bottom-end and warmth on everything...). I still think you might be able to raise the vocal just a smidgeon, but it's not nearly so obvious (and it might not work!) now that I've heard the better stream...

Fine, fine song, excellent arranging, and a lovely groove. And that guitar tone (and playing!) is really tasty :)

Wow, thanks much everyone for all the good words!  The song actually has a couple other parts I cut out since it was already running long.  Maybe I'll post a part 2 or just make it into another song.  :-\

Andy: Interesting observation... I listened to both versions and couldn't tell any difference on my system under headphones?  Maybe it has to do with a slow connection and how they stream as you mentioned?  Try DLing the MP3 file and comparing them to have a reference maybe as it won't have to stream.

Nice flow in this song, easy to listen to. As a guitarist I must mention your lovelt tone and playing!!

I agree, well worth the time and effort you put in, it moves along nicely. The guitar sounds great but I especially like the work you've done on the drums..........Willie

I love the slippery leads, and the propulsive-yet-sort of folky rhythm really drives the song along!
I agree that the chord progression is a good one - an inspired choice for a song with this theme.
I think I understand why the song is called "Call to Order," and as I listened, I found a few places where those words would fit. Also, I thought "no need to fear" from the first verse could work as the title. Probably, though, I'm just being too simplistic and concrete in my thinking. A great song the way it is!

j.g.

You always have the perfect production. Everything always fits into the right place.
This again is a great song from you and well worth all the effort you have put in.
