G&Ts. port, whiskey ... some delicious things I've not tried for a while.
I prefer to begin drinking beer early and maintain a comfortable buzz throughout the holidays. Yesterday, when everyone was too timid to crack a pre-noon, post-Mass beer, I took the lead.
I've had some nasty drunken holiday incidents in the past - early-morning martinis one Thanksgiving, scotch and bloody-rare prime rib one Christmas. I think (hope) I've learned my lesson.
For this day-after-Christmas lazy day at home, so far it's beaujolais and El Presidente beer. This might be my best buzz of the weekend, but I'm going to have to scale back to light beer since I feel I'm beginning to ramble ...
