Lets take a poll here, who is planning a big blowout over the holidays, I know for a fact that I will try my damnedest to get as wasted as possible.  I may even come on here and post stupid drunken rambling posts...I apologize in advance if I do such a thing.  I have stocked my fridge with the finest Irish Red Ale from our local independent Brewery.  Fresh and local and very Red, thats the way I like to lay it all out.  So, in advance (maybe some of you good folks are already in party mode as we type this), who amongst us is planning to celebrate Christmas the real old-school traditional way...getting drunk and/or stoned with their families and friends over the next few days.  Lets have a show of hands.  And lets hear some of your favorite things to do to get in this festive state.  I have already shared my method, as many Irish Red ale as I can get into me over the next few days, at least until Tuesday.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Great pole BB!

I just made a run to a Duty Free store in Michigan.

One case of Coors light cans sells here for roughly $40 Canadian.
If I go across the border to the USA, I can buy 5 cases for $80 Canadian.

So - I pay $2 to walk on a ferry and take a 5 minute boat ride across to Michigan.
I grab 5 cases of beer for $80, and then have to go through customs and pay $54 duty.

That means I pay $134 for 5 cases (24 pack cans) of the exact same beer that would cost me $200 if I bought it at my local Beer Store (yep - that's what it's called here).

Doesn't make any sense to me - but that's Canadian sin taxes for you!  :o

Anyways, by New Years day, those 5 cases will be gone (but the headache won't).

Merry Christmas and Happy New Years everbody!

Stay safe out there!!!
It ain't pretty being easy.

I went to the US for a special occasion and decided to bring a bottle of Cognac, which I paid $80 for here in Canada.  Then I got to the US and saw the same bottle for $40.  I thought "Why did I pay double just to lug it in my bag?"

Now I understand why they dumped all the tea into the ocean.

I don't wear glasses, but if I did I would drink until I didn't need to. Does that make sense?

I'll be thinking of you Peter when I crack open my ale.  You got to take care of your heart, pretty important organ.
