BR 600 / 800 / 900 Rhythm Editor

Hi All,

I have a BR 600 and Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium.  I tried downloading the 600/900 Rhythm Editor with no success.  (It does seem that I can get the BR Explorer and Wave Convertor to work, however.)

I can download the BR 800 Rhythm Editor no problems.  I haven't tried connecting the BR 600 with the 800's Rhythm Editor running, but suspect that it won't work.  Is that true?  Would running the BR 600 via USB to the computer while installing the 600 Rhytm Editor make a difference?

Does anyone have a work around for getting a Rhythm Editor to work with the BR 600 and Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium?  I used the 64 Guitars patches for the BR Explorer and that worked fine.  He has nothing for the Rhythm Editor though as far as I know.  Per my previous post, someone at Roland emailed me back saying the BR 600 Rhythm Editor should work on a 64 bit OS, but all the Roland websites say no go with "64 bit Windows".  Maybe I recieved an uninformed reply from Roland?

I'm not exactly sure what problem you're having with the BR-900/600/864 Rhythm Editor. Are you unable to download it from the Roland site? If so, did you remember to check the "I AGREE AND WISH TO PROCEED WITH DOWNLOAD" box at the bottom of the page before clicking the Download button? Or did you successfully download it but can't get the installer to work in Windows 7 64-bit?

I believe that the BR-800 Rhythm Editor will work just fine with other BRs, though I haven't tested it yet. It looks identical to the BR-900/600/864 Rhythm Editor. I think they just updated it so that it would also work with the BR-800.

Give it a try and let us know.

The Roland download page for the BR-900/600/864 Rhythm Editor says under "System Requirements":

Operating System: Microsoft® Windows® XP, Microsoft® Windows Vista®
* This does not work with the 64-bit Edition of Windows®.

I'm not sure why Roland tech support would tell you that it works with 64-bit Windows when their website specifically states that it does not.

Try the BR-800 version. Its system requirements include Windows 7 (the BR-900/600/864 version only mentions XP and Vista) and it doesn't mention anything about 64-bit, so I assume it will work.

Can download and install the verson for the BR-800, no problems.  But it doesn't find the BR-600 when it is running.
