Nigel, what a treat to listen to this! I actually liked the thumping kick drum - It really worked well with the bass guitar line.

Sweet guitar and of course the vocals were awesome!

Well done!

Quote from: chip withrow on January 15, 2011, 07:26:10 AMAs a newcomer, I have no idea what the Picasso Project is/was.

The project is a rock opera collaboration of 16 songs each performed by a different contributer using lyrics I wrote.  Each song is inspired by a Picasso painting and takes the name of the painting.

Here is the thread where I posted all the contents until I reached the character limit.

The project is still in progress.  A jukebox will be forthcoming.

Ferryman, you said this music was based on a song you did with a band in the 80s.

Wondering if you have a recording?

That might be interesting to hear.

What a bump! How did I miss this??? Epical! Nigel! We need a "do your prog-rock hit in 10 lessons" thread, and then you'll have my vote for the next festival!

Sometimes your vocals reminds the lamb lies down... I'm overwhelmed -

I think I'll never post anything again ;-)

...or at least soon ;-)))))

Nigel, I disagree entirely with your claim that you "can't do beautiful".  ;)
Okey,  the song may not be "touchy-feely" but it certainly is fantastic.
A tremendous musical and vocal performance. Quite exciting, in fact.

And wonderful lyrics from Fuzz.

Excellent collab, you two.  :)

Honour the earth. Without it, we'd be nowhere.

Life is too important to take seriously.

Thanks for the bump Trevor! I'm afraid I don't have a copy of the original track I'm afraid, lost in the mists of time, but if you want to hear what the original band sounded like, check out this link here:

You'll get an idea of where the overall sound and feel of this track comes from.

DSS, Donna, John, thanks for the comments! Donna, I think we share a liking of "prog" type songs, so your feedback is really appreciated. I'm afraid there is another prog epic on the way - I'm doing another track for my concept album for Fabfest (it's based on the book called "The King In Yellow"), it may not make the time limit, but Fabfest is a good reason to get moving on something!

Cheers,

Nigel

I Love this track. Frickin epic...It's like Jah Wobble and Frank Black sat down and wrote a song together with the Police.

How did I not comment on this one. Nigel... your production is always top notch. Loved it.
