problem with BOSS - 800

Hey lubo,
Have you tried exporting from the sd card reader in your computer?. This always works for me, even with larger cards .
Regards,

#gpmproject

thank you to all

I sorted out my problem with system update as 64guitars posted in his post - I've updated version to 1.06 and everything is working properly now. problem is, that you can't find system version in normal menu, just when you insert SD card with updates in to recorder card slot - than you could see, which version is installed and which one will be new - anyway update process takes about five minutes..

Yes,exactly - but I paid over £340 for brand new device, and I'd like to use it. I don't want to changing SD card after each recording session..that's all ..I'm not quite happy when I'm paying for half working product...

Quote from: 64Guitars on January 07, 2011, 12:09:21 PMI've sent an email to Roland tech support to see if they'll tell me the correct power-on key sequence for the BR-800 to determine the current system version number. I'll post it here if I get a reply.

Here's Roland's reply:

Hello Sixtyfour,

At this time do not have a user power up sequence to display the version information. Access to version info can only be found in the test mode. We do not recommend entering the test mode for this unit.

We do recommend download and installing the current version from our website.

PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND DIRECTLY TO THIS EMAIL.

So they don't know. I'm sure Roland Japan knows but I guess Roland US doesn't communicate with Roland Japan. So we'll have to wait until Roland Japan decides to notify Roland US. Or maybe one of our BR-800 users here will find the correct power-up sequence through experimentation (it's probably similar to the methods for the BR-600, BR-900, etc). Until then, the only sure way to find the version is by looking at the files as I described above.

I forgot to mention that BR Explorer should also report the version number in the last column ("Created with") of each song, as shown here:

The BR-800 didn't exist when I released the last version of BR Explorer, so the BR model shows up as "???". I'll fix that in the next release. But the version number that follows it should be accurate.

I've tried some of the combinations you've posted on your site 64G, but no luck yet. I think one problem is the touch-buttons. The only combination allowed/recognised in normal operation is STOP/PLAY which is the scrub-function. Of course other combinations may be available in startup-mode, but I hven't found it yet. (yes I did try the scrub-function combination :) )

Ah, yes!  I forgot about that. Button combinations aren't allowed on the BR-800. So it's probably just a single button that's held down while powering up. But which one?

Oh well, we can use BR Explorer for now. It should report the correct version number of each song. Can you confirm this, Geir? Now that you've updated your BR-800, does BR Explorer report version 1.06 for your new songs and version 1.00 for your old (pre-update) songs?

Actually, I haven't upgraded yet, but I can confirm that the current songs read:

update :

I've started the update now.
The updater says:
OLD Version: 1.03
NEW Version:1.06
Update system?

................

a few seconds after I confirmed with enter:

 OLD Version1.03
  NEW Version1.06
  Update COMPLETE
........ooooooooA7AE
oooooooooooooooo20A0
................
................

after the update I created a new song, that still reads:
BOSS BR0 Format SONGINFO2Ver1.00BR-800 ???

so does the VERSION.TXT file in the root folder.

BUT, I can confirm that the time the computer takes to recognise the BR800 after connecting goes AT LEAST 10 times as fast as earlier. It's almost no delay at all now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's surprising!  Do all of the files in the new song folder say Ver1.00?

Does BR Explorer also report version 1.00 for every song on your BR-800?
