I'm a newbie. Can the MBR do all the trad. BOSS stomp box effects:

I really like the:
BD-2   Hard Overdrive
BS-1   Hard Distortion
MT-2  70s Power Rock + Fat Metal

Being 49 (ok not a newbie ;)) I go nuts for the Hendrix, Clapton, Iommi, Page sounds, other classic rock/blues sounds and Nirvana.

Surprisingly, the portable BR recorders do not include models of overdrive/distortion pedals. But they do have models of popular amplifiers such as the Marshall 1959 (Plexi), MESA/Boogie combo amp, VOX AC-30TB, Soldano SLO-100, Fender Twin Reverb, and more. You can adjust the gain and volume on any of these amp models to get plenty of distortion when you want it, or back off the gain for a clean sound when that is called for.

The effects pedals modeled in the Micro BR are a compressor, chorus, flanger, phase shifter, tremolo, auto pan, and delay. There is also a reverb effect in the mixer section.

If you're considering the purchase of a Micro BR, you should download the Micro BR Owner's Manual and read up on its capabilities. You might also want to download the BR-600 Owner's Manual for comparison. And check out the demo video on the Boss BR website. There are also some MP3 demos on this Boss Japan page.

64Guitars,

Thanks. I've read through the 2 manuals and can see a lot of similarities, I think I can get the tones I want out of either MBR or BR600.

There are plus and minus points for both.. I'm defo an amateur musician but wanna make a family song. Me - classical guitar, strat and Roland V-drums, youngest daughter (12) is learning keyboards, middle daughter (17) is excellent singer.

The MBR wins on size and portability, as they both have iPod shuffles.

cheers
