this started out as a noodle on my Wavedrum and i thought it has a middle eastern flavor to it.

that's how the name came about.

Djemaa el Fna (Arabic: جامع الفناء jâmi al-fanâ) is a square and market place in Marrakesh's medina quarter (old city).

thanks for taking the time to listen.

Dude, you have to give me some tips on the wavedrum.  Because of your posts I went out and got one yesterday.  I don't know what the hell to do with it yet.  How do you dial up your patches, do you tweak them at all, how do you record,  how do you hit it, do you apply any effects on recording?   I really, really love this...sounds really good.  What does it mean to have a noodle on your wavedrum other than just hitting it.  I need to spend some time with it for sure.  Looking for some advice on the wavedrum.

hey BB

thanks for the quick listen and it's cool to see your joining the Wavedrum wave. no pun intended.  :D

i've only scratched the surface of the Wavedrum's palette.

i did this one with my hands and finger tips through my Line6 UX1 TonePort with some added echo. the gong sound was rim shots with my wedding ring.

i do have regular drum sticks, brushes and Birch rods. like brushes, but not as heavy as the drum sticks or as light as brushes.

thanks again for the listen.

Had to Google "wavedrum" as I had no idea what one was, and now I want one!
This jam of yours is so cool - like what the Grateful Dead used to do midway through 2nd set, but with even more gypsy/Middle Eastern spookiness. Hypnotic and worth repeated listens to dig on the multiple sounds.

G.A.S. attack.  I had to YouTube the Wavedrum, and were it not for the price, I would have one in my hands as I type (well, maybe not literally).  Very cool sounds.

A provocative listen.

how do you find the to amaze us with no instrustional path? This is something from way back man. I think you are connected.
Why don't we do it on the road?

Very off the wall and all Wave Drum? Nice job. It's a very versatile piece of kit, had a quick play with one myself.

Nice flavour here, keep noodling!

Cheers,

Nigel

sorry about the GAS attacks, guys.   :D

when i discovered the Wavedrum a year ago, my attack was so bad that i sold my Ibanez AK100NT Jazz box, my yamahammer keyboards and my Kaossilator.

yeah, it was that bad.

BB - there's a way to step up the volume on your Wavedrum so you don't have to strike the surface as hard. i can't recall the setting at the moment, but i'll figure it out and let you know.

Nigel - i did the sitar sound as best as i could with my guitar and added a simple bass line as well. long story short, it's not all Wavedrum.
