I dig this a lot, and I can imagine it as movie music, as a detective drives city streets late at night, stopping into bars, looking for witnesses/suspects.
Gritty, yet somehow ethereal too, like a David Gilmour solo.
Was the 4th guitar or one of the rhythms doing a bass line? Because I hear hints of one. A big bass line, maybe some old-style Hammond Organ (which can also provide some low end, too), would put this great song of yours over the top!

Actually, there are 4 guitar parts and 1 bass. I sounds like the bass is just too low in the mix. I'll re-mix it when I add vox, which I am currently writing.

Thanks for the comments ;)

Like it :)

And yep, bass could do with coming up a tad and I could hear vocals as well - glad to find you're working on them! :)

It's got a great groove and feel to it.

Nothing like late night inspiration is there? But I don't turn any kit on too late anymore - I'd never get through the day job. Mebbe I ought to go "aw... f*ck it!" and stop being so "grown-up" about it once in a while

Well... I added some vox and linked it to the original post.

Thanks for the comments everyone ;)

I always have problems with hearing things in my head and then trying to translate this to the guitar...don't seen to have the ability to do it most of the time.

The guitar work in this is spectacular, and the way you have mixed it just adds even more quality to it.
