"THE ANGEL" Original Lyrics and Spoken Word by Neil Swanson cp 2010 BMI

This poem i wrote several years ago , and is published in the library of congress
since that time i took it on my own accord. to set some music to the poem ..
and do a LEONARD COHEN style of spoken word set to Music. since i cant sing.
felt at the time this was the next best. hope all likes this , and figured since its
the holiday season this would b apprropriate..and this is also based on a true.
experience. they claim that 98% of people in the world believe in ANGEL.S AND
i am one of those who do . happy holidays NEIL and hope u like this . ......

AN angel came to me just 4 years ago
the light so bright . like a neon light
a gentle breeze so it flowed
comfortimg me from head to toe.

Silver wings on each side of her.
the halo glowed thats for sure
Colors lit the entire room
as a rainbow i knew it was soon

The angel spoke the words of love
that i knew from heaven above
Colors lit the entire room
she spoke the words of love
from heaven above.

AS quick she came the lights did leave
i knew they had come just for me.
as so the story always goes
and i knew the be back soon

Neil, I like the mood you create here, a really nice arrangement. But....didn't you post this before? Am I going mad, but I though this was one of your first with vocals you posted up here a while ago? Did you redo the vocals or something? Anyway, it sounds great and I think the vox work well here.

Thanks for the kind words. , yes , i re did the vox. or at least tried 2.
and tried enhancing the music more with a resample... type of thing.
but glad u  enjoed it. so in acutallatiy a re upload sort of thing new

Cool, I thought I wasn't going mad. This version is much more polished and the vocals much more assured. Well done for stepping out of your comfort zone and doing them!

I appreciate your suppoting comment , u called it right the comfort zone.
as i cant sing worth a darn...i want to experiment more with these kind
of poetic songs. and LEONARD COHEN in the 60 s was very famous for
and a s a songwriter.. if no one has heard of his famous poetic song check
out on u tube. im sure they have it called SUZZANE. takes u down by the river.
