One of my favorites among my recent songs. Also one of my first efforts at mixing guitar and banjo.
Back in 8th grade science class, I was assigned the element beryllium for a report. 30 years later, I realized it would be a fine subject for a folk/bluegrass number.
Here are the words:

Beryllium Heart

Some folks' hearts are sentimental
some folks' hearts are confidential
but her heart is elemental – beryllium heart

The ties that bind are hard to trust
tread with caution if you must
her heart is brittle, turned to dust – beryllium heart

Her love is rare and unstable
her feelings cast in steel-gray
love her much as you are able
she might not be around at the end of the day

wears a crown of blue and green
emerald and aquamarine
she's a poison lovesick queen – beryllium heart

Cool! The title drew me instantly - nice plucking upon the old banjo, and a great listen.

this is a great addition to this place. I hope we all can hear more. It's oldish.. but modern to today.
Why don't we do it on the road?

Yeah, I really like this.. and the melody on the title line is excellent. Your vocals are very good on this one and the mix sounds good to me.

What an excellent voice. You have one of those voices that I could listen to a full album of your music, and when the music stops, I'd still want more.

The guitar and banjo playing were fantastic. The only qualm I have is they are thin in the mix and sit too far back. If I were one of these home recording guru's I'd offer up tips on how to get a more full sound, but I'm sure somebody will come along and give you that nugget of wisdom shortly.

2nd listen, and I really dig this.
