Here is on of the first recordings I did...yes its crude, dark and depressing but I did this and the all recordings thereafter exactly using the technique I described

I do thank hooper and 64 with all their help. I'm eager to get an 800 but there is one feature or lack there of as I understand it...please correct me if I'm wrong, you can't edit tracks on the 800?? you have to play it all the way through I think Punching in and out??

You're right, the only "editing" you can do is to copy a whole track to another track and deleting a track.

Auto Punch-in are a bit more flexible as you set the repeat A-B independantly of the punch-in area

Just so I am following this... with the 800, I could not, for example, cut out my breathing in between lines that I am singing?  That is good to know because some day I will likely upgrade and would prefer not to have something that requires the use of a PC.

Geir

you could do that by setting auto-punch in/out and record silence, but you can't delete a section like on the mbr. You can also (and that's a big plus) use a footswitch for punching in and out.

Ok thats great! and as a DAW interface I guess there are other things you can do

Geir

Yes it has !!

And you set the auto -punch area indipendent of repeat. Unlike the mbr which only give you one bar ahead and one after on the rep/aut function you set repeat to what you like and autopunch to what you like
