This song was written and preformed by myself and Roddy Renfrew.
Roddy lives in Scotland and we met on a songwriters website.
We worked on the song a piece at a time, I sent him the backing track with just bass and drums he added piano, harmoica and organ and sent it back to me. I added some guitar parts and then we worked on the vocals. Roddy sang the first verse, I sang the second verse and we both sang on the chorus. This is the first time I collaborated on a song this way and it was very enjoyable to hear the song evolve a piece at a time.
We are still working to add more parts to this song and just wanted to get peoples opinons on the song so far. Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Thanks,

Dave

MOTHERWELL TO MISSISSIPPI

Written by Roddy Renfrew and David Bride

Scottish rain falling on me,
Cold , grey, draining daily,
Gotta leave here,

Read about Muddy Waters,
Delta sound, clear blue skies,
Want to be there,

Yazoo City calling clear,
Cross the ocean says just come here,
And see me,

Jackson says come on down,
Be like Son House and Willie Brown,
Just be here,

(Chorus)
Motherwell to Mississippi, thats where I got to go,
Got to get to Tallahatchee, so that I can know,
The magnolia is gonna grow there,
Motherwell to Mississippi, thats where I got to go,
I got to go yeah, I want to go there,

Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters,
James Cotton and Jimmie Rodgers
They are playing the blues,

Juke Joint blasting out music all night long,
Got to come and dance along,
Down in the delta,

(Chorus)
Motherwell to Mississippi, thats where I got to go,
Got to get to Tallahatchee, so that I can know,
The magnolia is gonna grow there,
Motherwell to Mississippi, thats where I got to go,
I got to go yeah, I want to go there,

Motherwell is less than fifteen mins from me, been there to watch the football a few times as  my brother in law is a mad Motherwell supporter of the football team, by the way really enjoyed your collab , hope to hear it when it,s finished.
