Before I got too deep into yours, I went to YouTube to hear the Johnny Cash version.
Your version has a unique soulfulness to it - I think it's the jazz-inflected guitar chording. Your voice is clear, direct and powerful. And the recording is just right, a top-notch guitar and vocal take that needs nothing else. Man, I dig this!

Thanks for the comments! This song means a lot to me and was something I had always wanted to do. Was never too sure I;d be able to pull it off vocally, but I am a lot more comfortable doing vocals now than I was when I first joined here.
