Here is my new one. I don't really have a title for this one so I went with my first instinct "There You Go Again". I hear some CCR (Credence Clearwater revival) in the beginning, but that wasn't my intent (I actually haven't listened to them in quite some time). If any of you are inspired to  add some lyrics (james) bass, keys whatever, you are more than welcome, it's fair game.

postscript- I have to say this sight has really inspired me musically. To see how one idea can lead and develop into a complete song is really exciting.

what with the presidential election going on et al, this lyric came quite quick, is a first take so if i'm not assassinated in a fatwah by religious fundamentalists i might redo the vocals.

song is now called voting with jesus. its not a dig at christians but at the way right wing organisations use the religious vote to keep the status quo, the rich keep getting richer and the poor..well you get the drift.

I f*cking love this. A great onslaught of guitar, and - as always - ORH gets inside the song beautifully to give it some real lyrical edge. Damn fine work, guys!  :)

And I totally get where you're going with the lyrics on this, ORH. Poignant, topical and 100% accurate!

Why are you thinking of re-doing the vocals? They sound great to me... !

Grabbed the zetigeist and you grabbed my vote!

Nice work guys, I'm off to see a gig this evening so I won't be in, but I'd like to contribute a bit of bass and a few keys perhaps...

It's a shame they're not playing this on the radio over the pond.

it was done very rough as a sketch, to give me an idea of what i wanted to do, one of the ways i work is just sing what comes out, then listen to it, get the lyrics how i want them then sing the song in one take confident of the lyrics, this was done a verse sometimes a line at a time, i will listen to it on ,my mp3 player and judge whether it needs reworking or not.
thanks for the positive comments guys, no fatwah as yet.

Jeebus!

Wow, much clearer and with less distortion.

I love it. It has a real hook, catchy and lyrical. Cracking.

"we've got you by the soul"  I really like that line.  I like the way the ending plays out now. It seems more menacing than before.  Sleepwalking to our peril.

I'm blown away by this! I write my songs with no specific lyrics in mind, yet I write them to be lyrically conducive, sometimes they seem a bit repetitive, but it seems to really work with OLDrottenheads uncanny ability to hear the lyrical potential. WOW! Again I'm blown away ___rottenhead!!!

flash, or who ever, feel free to add some bass. I think keys might be a bit much but give it a shot.

James, could you post the lyrics for me? I'm cleaning up the song a bit and added a little solo at the end. I think it sounds better. I'll post it in a bit.
