Latest mix.

Have adjusted the levels - Changed the panning and stereo spread and trimmed a few odd noises.  This is also a slightly higher quality mp3.

Cheers

To my untrained ear, this definitely sounds like the best mix so far.

I enjoy the roaming lead guitar that kicks in around 1:50.

I'll have a listen to the others to make comparisons, but listening to this one, it sounds pretty damned fine. I really like the slightly off-kilter feel to it.

Leigh, you have done it my friend, really good, really good.  The lead guitar is mixed in perfect, it was a little too hot before.  The panning is right on.  It sounds very smooth now, even in its off kilter swagger.  Deadly good job.  Very creative.  I gotta try to get loose like this once in a while, I don't know if I could.  Deadly Leigh.

That is a very creative take on the project and I think it works wonderfully. Not at all what I was expecting but very good.

Thanks all for dropping by.  I have a slightly altered version, following some suggestions, but to my ears it doesn't work as well as this one despite all its faults, so I'll call this a wrap at least for now.

By the way, for those who like to know such things, the rhythm on this is played on an Irish Bouzouki (bazooki), its first outing as a rhythm instrument in my arrangements.  The guitar, my Telecaster plays the lead.  The rest was played on a keyboard.  Nothing was looped and each track was a single performance.  The main vocal was recorded at the same time as the bouzouki was played and recorded through a single microphone, becoming the backbone of the idea, at the same time making it difficult to manipulate, so what you hear is pretty much as it was recorded.

Thanks again.

Awesomwe recording technique, thats how you get such an authentic feel, it is basically "live".

I hadn't thought of it like that, but it is good way to consider it.  There are several rhythm and timing changes as well as the switch to the strong 3/4 beat that gave me problems when I tried to record the vocal and rhythm separately, so the "live performance" in front of the mic was the only way I could tame my idea and cage it in the recording.  It's also why the thought of redoing it is a bit daunting.

Thanks for the thoughts.
