In my enforced solitude (being off Line) I decided to tackle something a little more complex for me........
I wrote and produced this little piece from scratch......
My aim was to add layers and layers without it becoming too busy
Drums created from loops in audacity
All instruments/ voices played on Guitar synth
Choir
Strings
Bass
Gothic Organ
Rock Organ
Indian flute
Synth swirls
Lead Guitar
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
This was Inspired by PineDog's most excellent soundscapes describing American history........
It is meant to portray the Jesuit Monks disastrous effect on the great natural religion and way of life of the Native Americans.......
A big thanks to TW for his kick up the arse telling me to take more risks........  :P ;D

I would be grateful for constructive feed back as this stuff is fairly new to me.....

Seems you hit a new milestone here Mike. Very clever production. all those layers fit together pretty well. Maybe you could add a little voice to turn it into a song, there seems to have a story behind this.
a big well done

Def not too busy, nicely mixed, its all clear.  When that guitar comes in, so good.  Keeping on taking the risks, it is very good Mike.  You have a good ear for this kind of track.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

Hate to be a killjoy but if you're going to write music as good as this you should be forced offline one week in every four. Seriously, I could listen to music as good as this all day and night. Supurb.........Willie

So many "instruments" on this, but well mixed and mastered. I like this...bluesy and full of feeling...

This kind tunes may cause GAS attack...!!

You asked for constructive feed back,
but how can we do that on a piece that simply makes your jaw drop !

Only minor point for me was the bass came across a little bit too hot for my speakers (that could just be the fault of my speakers :) )

All in all a great soundscape to listen to.

Nice piece of work Mike. I have given this quite a few listens already, and am really digging it. Great composition.

That is really great.  Nothing to criticise at all.  Good choice of instrumentation, nicely mixed and a fine interesting composition.

You may be new to this sort of stuff but you are clearly not new to making music.  This works for me.

I like the feel of the instrumentation, they're captured and integrated very well.  The drums are excellent.

For me, I'd like to to get a break from the three chord trick to mix it up a bit occasionally.

Good work though.
