I'm really digging the guitar work on here!!   I think you need to bring up the vox, cuz i'm having problem making them out (maybe sing another track at an octave higher?)...    I really like the vibe on your song, and i think it closes the album quite nicely!

Listening with headphones now...loving this track more and more. This is near perfect. Mesmerizing...the rhythm guitar starts to sound like one of those African thumb pianos...solid. The vocals are much easier to hear in the cans. You have a unique style that gives a friendly "everyman" way about the vocals. I now think you should keep this vocal track and add another vocal track to it that's more of a whisper with a wider sound (Twangster guitar effect on MBR can be tweaked for some very cool "rounded" sound with out having to pan. Kind of a "mono-wide' if you will). This is a very very good song Trevor!

Thats it exactly, what Sandy said, that would sound very good.  I have listened twice and am in for #3 right now...I love the way it builds and builds, great pacing.  It is very reflective, medatative.  I think you are close, try Sandy's idea for a second vocal, maybe thats all it needs.  It is very original and unique and very melodic piece.

That is my approach in general.

I wanted to ramp it up a bit more to match the mastery of the other submissions and not stick out like a sore thumb, but I kept trying to belt it out more, which really only served to highlight the weakness of my unpracticed singing voice, and break the otherwise serenity of the song.

A few comments here have helped me to embrace the low-key soothing quality, so that is good.  I probably will try some manner of vocal harmony to give it the presence it needs.

As far as guitar harmony, I like the idea but I'm unsure what to do about it.  I'm a self-taught player and I never taught myself that.

Meantime Ferryman has the tracks and may produce some magic with my raw materials.

Yes I played them on my electronic Yamaha CheeseFest Drumkit.
I would have liked to vary it a bit more but was too worried about losing the rhythm.

This is my drumkit.

I like it because it's apartment-size and fits in my closet.
I don't like it because there is no rim-shot, and the pedals are so small they shift around while playing.

I have redone the vocals and the mix.
This is a bit closer to what I hear in my head.

Enjoy!

I like the bagpipeish lead and the percussion quite a bit. And I like the way it builds... I was missing some vox over the full band playing... but now that I think about it, it might be better that way. Kind of a nice piece.

Fricken' spectacular dude! What a song! I love what you've done production wise. Everything nicely tucked in its place. Well done good sir!
