A bit of whimsical nonsense, though nowhere as sublime as ComedyFest offerings like Gnasty's Hemorrhoid Rashes.   ;D

I wrote Pigeon as a bit of a joke after watching the antics of ...well... a pigeon on my balcony. Probably took about the same time it takes a pigeon to...ummmm, anyway...  ;)  And since no one in her right mind will ever want to sing this, I figured I'd better do it myself. :D

Sorry about the amateurishness of the demo. Just rough vocals on top of a slowed-down bluegrass jam track from the internet.

Thanks for bearing with me.   ;)

The Pigeon on My Balcony

Chorus
No pigeons on the grass, alas
For spring's not yet in sight
But the pigeon on my balcony
Looks primed to set things right
He's eyeing off the female
Pecking mindless at the feeder
Unaware biology
Is about to impede her

(v1)
Progress is a wondrous thing
As evolution shows
Any scientist knows
Whether simple or exotic
Every creature knows erotic
To a small or great extent
It's why they're heaven-bent
In their flurries of intent

(v2)
To propagate the species
Was Mother Nature's plan
Though humans also can
Couple just for pleasure
At all times and at leisure
Though for me, not much occurred
Would I have been better heard
If I'd been born a bird?

Chorus
No pigeons on the grass, alas
For spring's not yet in sight
But the pigeon on my balcony
Looks primed to set things right
He's eyeing off the female
Pecking mindless at the feeder
Unaware biology
Is about to impede her

Uh huh, evolution, oh yeaaaahhhhh...
Oh that pigeon on the balcony
is being over-zealous
Now his lady's taking notice
And me, I'm getting jealous

It is pretty well Donna!

I would feel more comfortable if you put a verse on how the pigeon had a birth control pill on his food! I hate pigeons!

It is good to finally hear your voice... you performed this very well. Nice write, and I wouldn't be surprised if someone wanted to sing it, but glad you did instead.
