This is a quick new mix (with tired ears again) of a song that was completed earlier this (or last) year.

Some fine-tuning will be done in a couple of days.

I'm on the iPad, so I cannot access the song information at the moment. All I can say is that Michael Taub wrote the lyric and the singer is Paul T. Bathen.

I hope the link works. Can't check that either as the iPad cannot play such content (it cannot do much of anything actually).

Edit - here are the credits:

Vocals: Paul T. Bathen
Lyrics: Michael Taub
Bass: William Fisher
Guitars: Bill Gifford
Drums: Gerald Langefeld
Composed, arranged & mixed by Steffen Offermann

... and the lyrics:

Preacher Man
© 2007 Michael Taub

The summer is shadowed by darkness
Barren trees haunt the sky
The preacher man says it's not hopeless
Tomorrow, the clouds will pass by

Search for your hope
Behold the white horse
That saddles the crown with a bow
Behold the white horse
That saddles the crown with a bow

The columns have crumbled to the ground
Statues have lost their limbs
The preacher man says what's lost can be found
Together, we build again

Search for your answers
Search for your hope
Behold the red horse
That carries the blade of the sword
Behold the red horse
That carries the blade of the sword

A river no longer runs through it
The bed has turned bone dry
The preacher man says there's nothing to it
The waters, again will rise high

Search for your hope
Behold the black horse
That weighs the balance of word
Behold the black horse
That weighs the balance of word

Search for your answers
Search for your hope
Behold the pale horse
That wears the preacher mans cloak
Behold the pale horse
That wears the preacher mans cloak

Cool and powerful song.

When I saw the title I was surprised, as this week I'd listened to "Preacher Man" by erstwhile collaborator of yours - James Ryce - totally different of course, but the chances of that happening??

If you want a listen - here is James song.

I'm glad you like the song and the production, Gentlemen! The recordings were a bit of a challenge again (sound-quality-wise).

@drumbum:
Sure, I will mix-down a sans-drums version for your. I often feel like playing with other people's songs too (especially trying an alternative mix/production), because the songs are so great. Unfortunately some people don't see that as appreciation of their work. But I do. :)

And, BTW - if anybody would like to do a cover of any of my songs, I'd be delighted. :) I often wonder how e.g. my piano ballads would sound on guitar.

Cool song!  I really dig the intro;   gotta a laid back, mellow, but serious vibe ~ dig the guitar picking !

Thanks, Satch!

I just replaced the link with a slightly modified version.

See if you notice the difference. :)
