DIY Mic

So my brother and I made a mic using the directions from this website.  We used the Panasonic capsules.  It was hard to find a cord that worked, I didn't use the one posted, we had to double up some of the wires (it had many).

The sensitivity was amazing.  I was picking up sounds from 40ft away.  However, it doesn't pick up enough lower bass frequencies.  I think that is due to how small the capsule is.

Not sure mine sounds as good as the recordings that were posted but it sounds good and I will use it.

That is awesome, groovedude.

You could always equalize it in Micro BR. In the Vocal Multi (MC) effect bank there is a 4-Band Equalizer. Make sure you have Plug-in Power ON.

Maybe you could share some photos and sounds some day. The capsules I use aren't the Panasonic ones so I'm sure yours will sound way better.

Plug-in Power was on.  And I did set up a mic effect for it, I didn't use the EQ but there was some other effect setting that I used to boost the bass.  Even still the bass response was very dissapointing, but it was a fun project.  I'll post some stuff when I get the mic back from my bro.

On one of the off-site links, someone had a sound comparison of a DIY mic to Shure mic and the DIY sounded better--well, my results were not the same.
