This is a song I wrote last week when I got an acoustic guitar. The first time I had played one for many years and the first one I had recorded ever. This was my second effort at recording.
Tomorrow is comment day as I have been suffering all week with ear and throat trouble.

This is a lovely song, Geoff! Me thinks I've heard it before. Isn't that the song you posted somewhere else before? Or is it just because it is so catchy that it sounds so familiar to me after hearing it for the second time today? :)

I can hear the influences of some great songwriters in this song. It has little bits of Gordon Lightfoot, Don McLean and James Taylor IMO.

Keep it coming! :)

Thanks for the comments.

This would have been helped even more if I had a recent thread by Geir before recording.

Everyone should look in the "Home Recording Section - General - Recording and Production Tips".

There are some great tips there which will help everyone to achieve a better end result.

This really does sound nice Geoff, and wonderfully recorded.

Glad you got an acoustic so we can hear more!

Very nice song, excellent song.  Your voice sounds very good here.  I can't say enough about this one, songwriting at its best.  You need to write with your acoustic more, more and more.  Great song, very lyrical, very melodic, Stoneman mentioned Gordon Lightfoot, I also hear a Canadian vibe here, maybe a little Ian Tyson, very very good, exceptional really.  If I don't hear another new song on here all week I will be satisfied, this one is so strong.
