MoO got together the other night.  Third night with the new drummer and 4th with the new bass player.  We worked on four new tunes: "I Can Fix It" by Jack Pearson, "Good Day For the Blues" by Storyville, "Fortunate Son" by CCR, and this one, another tune by Storyville called "Lucky." It's an early run-through, so cut us a little slack. I know it's a little rigid right now.

As an FYI, Storyville was formed with Double Trouble after Stevie Ray Vaughan's passing along with Malford Milligan (a large African American albino singer...quite a presence), David Holt, and David Grissom on guitar. They are worth checking out if you like Texas rock/blues.

This tune also marks the debut of an impulse-buy Ovation super shallow-body I picked up for just over $100. I'm on acoustic, and Everett is on his Strat.

Recorded live in the living room via a BR-1600.

Peace.

Sounds pretty good for an early run-through, in fact it sounds damn great !!

I love the "restrainded dynamic" playing and vocal delivery (if that makes sense).

Keep'em coming Bruce !!!

Bruce is in the house.  Fantastic.  I, like Geir, don't find this stiff at all more like Geir says ""restrainded dynamic" playing and vocal delivery" which really works for a song like this.  I love that organ in the background, nicely done.  Great vocal here, your new guitar records very well, playing is not too shabby either  ;).  This is like a great "live" studio recording, ready for the album.  You guys are flipping fantastic.  How many local folks know about you guys and your little band.  Your singer is one in a million.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

This is a great song.

A buddy gave me a copy of a Storyville live recording, and I really like these guys. The singer is great and those two guitarists are fantastic as well. (I still can't rate them higher than Arc Angels though  ;)).

Anyhoo - you guys sound really great here Blooby. That Ovation sounds pretty damn sweet man. To sound that good recorded live in a livingroom is fantastic.

If you guys do a bar gig, you gotta record it for us!
It ain't pretty being easy.

Okay to Cover

Sounds terrific guys!

 Congrats on the new bargain!

Funny you should say that because that is something I am actively working on with the band.  The one thing that has struck me about our local bands is that they all rush through tunes with a wall of sound.  There may be energy, but I fear the musical qualities are lost.  Even in this tune (although obviously mellow), I feel we have rushed through it. I think the drummer tries to push the beat when it should be dragging somewhat lazily behind.

I appreciate the comments as I feel we're heading (albeit slowly) in the right direction.
