This is my first recording I've done from scratch so I would love to get some feedback on how it sounds. I guess these are more or less scratch tracks (still have the count in haha). Recorded a ton of tracks before them but I'd say these are greatly improved on the first tracks I recorded. Still needs the solo and some vocals.

Some things I've noted:
-Bass is clipping, have trouble recording the bass without my BR-600 clipping or sounding real sterile. Might have to use the Guitar IN, I've been trying to use the DI output on my amp.
-General sloppiness in playing, something I have to work on my own I guess.
-I think the drums are mixed poorly, I'm using EZDrummer and I find it difficult to get a mix where the hi-hat is tame and the kick has some presence. Right now the hi-hat sounds too high in the mix and the kick almost non-existant (on my shitty laptop speakers anyway).

I am listening now with my own shiity 'puter speaks.....
So I cannot give you a true response.....
But, from what I'm hearing, I like this, of course, it needs vox!
If fact, I think I'll download it to my mp3 player for further listening.....
Rock on, Dude!

Welcome !!! Seems like you've sorted out the "phasing" problem, this sounds really good !!

Couldn't hear the bass-clipping, you've disguised that well in the mix. I agree with you, that kick-drum kinda get lost, but the drumprogramming is great.

This is some really tight playing.

Amazing first post, can't wait to hear more !!

Oh well ........

Yeah with the guitars on top it's pretty hard to tell but I can still pick it out. Probably the first thing I'm going to redo. My plan is to maybe mic up my bass amp with my SM57 and then mix it with the bass going straight into the recorder. I'm pretty sure I can simultaneously record a microphone track and a guitar-in track. The 57 probably won't capture much of the low end but I'm sure the direct in will. It might not make much of a difference but I love gear and getting to mic it up and hear the results is just too much fun!
